FINALLY! My new CD is completed. I am pleased and grateful to say I sold my very first copies last night at Camelot East in Sarasota where I performed my show to a sell-out crowd. (Yeah, that was a little brag I snuck in there.) What a wonderful audience. And I want to thank the committee and all who put in such diligent work and organization to make it a magical night.
The CD, "Here's To The Divas" (cover at left) will always be available at my shows, and I will soon make them available here on my web site too.
Speaking of shows, I look forward to Tuesday night when I will return to the stage at Visani Dinner Theater in Port Charlotte. What a great venue to perform. (And I will repeat, over and over, that the food is great.)
I have had some busy weeks lately. In addition to finishing up the recording for my CD, I have performed twice with my friend Jimmy Mazz, a very talented entertainer. Our show, 'Bobby Darin and Connie Francis: Dreamlovers, The Show That Should Have Been' has been very successful, first at Visani Dinner Theater, then last week at The Cultural Center of Port Charlotte where over 400 people attended. We will repeat the performance next month at Visani on April 9.
On a personal note, I have just passed the one year mark since Buddy's passing. You may be familiar with the term 'roller coaster ride' after such a loss, and that surely is true. A year of pain and tears, of course, but also a year of growth and gratitude to God. I cry, but I also laugh, and I just keep going, doing what I think I'm born to do. Sing. Thank you all for being there.
