Two weeks to go before I leave Albion and begin my trek back to Florida (by way of New Jersey where I have a show scheduled on October 23). As I sit at my computer this morning the sky is gray and the rain is coming down in a dismal manner as saturated leaves occasionally disengage themselves from the trees behind Dad's house and drop heavily onto the grass. *Sigh* Yup, summer is definitely over.
But it's been a GREAT summer, and I am grateful for every moment. And now I have some exciting things to look forward to back in Florida.
One of the coolest things is my return to TURTLES WATERFRONT RESTAURANT on Siesta Key on Wednesdays in November. This is the place where Buddy and I began our Florida life back in 1992 and where we continued to perform for the next 15 years (Well, with a brief sabbatical in a couple other places.) Although it might seem that it would be too sentimental for me to return to our home base, instead it feels comfortable. It feels right.
I will not perform my full Cabaret Show there, but instead it will be intimate and informal - just me singing songs that will bring back memories from 'the soundtrack of your life'. In other words, a mixture of songs I have enjoyed singing over the last 38 years of my performance career. Yup, there are a lot to choose from!
So join me on Wednesdays in November at 6:30 for a relaxed evening of music and memories. Be sure to plan on having dinner at Turtles when you come. The food is great, and the location can't be beat; overlooking Little Sarasota Bay. What a view!
Turtles Waterfront Restaurant: 8875 Midnight Pass Rd, Sarasota (Siesta Key), FL 941-346-2207
See ya there! (Or see ya here at least.)
