Opening ceremony in the rain.
This morning I was honored to sing the National Anthem for the opening ceremony of the "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" 5K walk at Watt Farms in Albion, NY.
I don't know how many were there, but it was HUNDREDS, I know that much. They were predicting a thousand people to participate, but the rain probably kept some away. Nevertheless, hundreds of people showed up even in the rain to walk for this cause, and I can only guess how many thousands of dollars they raised. My rain-hat is off to all of the good folks who participated.
Their motto is, 'making strides, saving lives'. I sure do like that idea.
